Something unexpected or unplanned.
Bakum- בקו”ם
Reception and sorting base.
Betim - בתים
Sick leave while still staying on base.
Chamshush - חמשו”ש
Leave base on Thursday until Sunday.

Army identification card.

Instructor/teacher.
Magad- מג”ד
Regiment commander.

Someone who is in the process of being drafted.
Masa- מסע
Military March.
Mashakit Tash- מש”קית ת”ש
Soldier who’s job is to take care of personal affairs of other soldiers.
Mashakit Chinuch - מש”קית חינוך
Soldier who is in charge of the education on their base.
Maslul - מסלול
The whole time a soldier is considered “in training”.
Matzal - מצ”ל
A list of the personnel which indicate the total number of people in the company/department/team - how many are present, who is missing and why.
Matash - מת”ש
A sentence in which the punishment is only monetary, usually for the loss of objects.
Matzav Shtayim - מצב שתיים
The initial position of the body in a push-up exercise.

Sergeant (in charge of discipline).

Platoon commander’s assistant.

Company commander’s assistant.
Sha’ah Bayetzia - שעה ביציאה
A punishment of a one hour delay before the soldier can leave the base.
Shavuz - שבוז
A tired soldier who complains too much about his military service.
Shekem - שק”ם
The place you will go on refreshment breaks to buy food.
Shin Gimmel - ש”ג
A guard post in the entrance to a camp.

A soldier who is “in shock” and is in the process of adapting to the army framework.
Tash- ט”ש
The allotted free time before going to bed during training, which you can use as you wish - get organized, take a shower, use the phone and refresh yourself from the day you spent.

A soldier who loves the army and does more than what is expected of him.

A soldier who has just started his military service.
